Allgöwer-Röck – the lower leg fixation and relief orthosis

FIELDS OF APPLICATION/INDICATIONS:
• for active mobilisation therapy of traumatic or
   post-surgical conditions and
acute or chronic illnesses requiring the
relief of the lower leg or foot
• surgically treated, non load-stable
   osteosyntheses
• fractions treated conservatively that can
  not be loaded yet
• fractures of the ankle bone, heel bone,
  tarsal bone and midfoot
• severe distortions and luxations
• osteomyelitis after surgical restoration
• for the therapy of diabetic foot ulcers
  (to a limited degree)

FUNCTION/PROPERTIES:
• transfer of ground reaction forces through the walking
frame via calf shell to the tibial condyles; providing
complete relief to the traumatised lower leg
• available with forefoot support or dynamic partial loading
• the dynamic partial loading provides a gradual transition
from complete relief to full loading
• the use of the forefoot support prevents the foot from
  caving into talipes equinus position
• contralateral balance is required
• reduces muscular atrophy, thrombosis and joint stiffness
• easy attachment and removal of the orthosis allows
  physiotherapeutic rehabilitation and mobilisation
  at any time
